About Us
We both grew up in families that enjoyed camping. Each appreciated spending time in the outdoors and seeing the sights offered by this great nation. And both families tended toward what we consider “comfortable camping”: we might be out in nature, but that’s no reason not to have as many amenities with us as possible to help extend the enjoyment! One family preferred to travel in well-equipped recreational vehicles (soft beds, television, and a full kitchen to cook yummy dinners), and the other did mostly stationary camping in a custom-built cabin on a lake (no electricity, but comfortable beds, gas lamps and stove, motor boats, etc.). But we both have great memories from those early experiences.
Once we started our own family, we continued the camping legacy. At first it was primarily tent camping, since tenting was the most budget-friendly option for our family of six. Through the years, we’ve camped in everything from tow-behind travel trailers and pop-ups, to Class A RVs, to rented cabins. And through our experiences, we’ve learned how to make camping convenient and easy for those of us who value comfort.
Our current camper is a 2005 Fleetwood Bayside, affectionately called “Buddy,” that we rescued from someone selling it as-is due to water damage. It was top of the line in its day, and we love how comfortable it is! Lots of space inside so we can make new family memories with our grandchildren, carrying on the tradition. We’d love to hear your camping traditions, and what type of camper/tent/cabin you’re using. Send us your stories here.
